WhatsApp announced a new feature that allows users to navigate between the videos they receive or send in chats, after launching another feature that enables them to make group calls with up to 31 people.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a feature that will allow users to skip videos forward or backward by double-tapping on the side of the screen, and this feature is currently available for users of the beta version of Android in version 2.23.20.20.

How does the feature work? This feature relies on the same principle that YouTube uses, making it easy to use and familiar to users who are used to watching videos on the popular video platform.

Thanks to the new feature, users can control the videos they receive or send, by being able to skip forward to move to a specific part of the video or rewind to rewatch something they might have missed without having to use the progress bar.

WhatsApp will reinforce the privacy of secure conversations

Another report revealed that Meta’s WhatsApp app is working on developing a new feature that will help users hide their secure conversations completely, and this feature is under development and will be integrated into an upcoming update of the app.

Currently, the link to access secure conversations appears in the chat list at all times, even if the conversation is secure.

This means that anyone who can access the phone will notice the presence of secure conversations, despite not being able to open them.

But after activating the new feature, users will need to add a password in the search bar to show the link to access secure conversations, which provides an additional layer of privacy and security for users who want to protect their sensitive conversations from curious eyes.
