OnePlus Open is the latest foldable phone from OnePlus, which features an innovative design and powerful specifications. Design

OnePlus Open has a sleek and sophisticated design, where it can be folded to half its size to become more portable and usable. The phone is made of high-quality materials, such as the front glass (Ceramic Guard) (folded), the back glass or eco-friendly leather, and the aluminum frame. The phone weighs 239 grams or 245 grams (depending on the color), and has a thickness of 5.8 mm (when opened) and 11.7 mm (when folded). The phone supports two nano SIM cards and an eSIM card, and has IPX4 splash resistance.

Screen

OnePlus Open has two screens: a main screen (the primary screen) and a cover screen (the secondary screen). The main screen is a LTPO3 Flexi-fluid AMOLED foldable screen, with a size of 7.82 inches, and a resolution of 2268 x 2440 pixels (2K), and a density of 426 pixels per inch. The screen supports Dolby Vision and a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 2800 nits (peak). The screen covers 89.6% of the phone’s area, and is protected by ultra-thin glass. The screen provides rich and realistic colors, and adapts to the natural color temperature and eye comfort. The cover screen is a LTPO3 Super Fluid AMOLED screen, with a size of 6.31 inches, and a resolution of 1116 x 2484 pixels (2K), and a density of 431 pixels per inch. The screen supports Dolby Vision and a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 2800 nits (peak). The screen covers 91.8% of the phone’s area, and is protected by Ceramic Guard material. The screen allows the user to use the phone when folded, and access the applications, notifications, and camera easily.

Battery

OnePlus Open has a lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 4805 mAh (dual-cell, 3295 + 1510 mAh, non-removable). The battery supports 67W wired charging, which can charge the phone from 1 to 100% in 42 minutes (according to the advertisement). The battery also supports reverse wired charging, which can charge other compatible devices via the USB Type-C port. The battery provides a long life for the phone, as it was tested to last 11:59 hours in active use.

Camera

OnePlus Open features a triple rear camera, in collaboration with Hasselblad, which provides professional photography and color correction technology. The main camera is a Sony LYT-T808 “Pixel Stacked” CMOS camera, with a resolution of 48 megapixels, and a size of 1/1.43 inches, and a pixel size of 1.12 micrometers. The camera supports multi-directional autofocus for all pixels, and optical and electronic image stabilization, and an aperture of ƒ/1.7, and a viewing angle of 85 degrees. The camera captures clear and detailed images in daylight and night. The second camera is a telephoto OmniVision OV64B camera, with a resolution of 64 megapixels, and a size of 1/2 inch, and a pixel size of 0.7 micrometers. The camera supports autofocus, and optical and electronic image stabilization, and an aperture of ƒ/2.6, and a viewing angle of 33.4 degrees. The camera provides 3X optical zoom, 6X hybrid zoom, and up to 120X digital zoom. The camera captures high-resolution images from a distance. The third camera is an ultra-wide Sony IMX581 camera, With a resolution of 16 megapixels, and a size of 1/3.06 inches, and a pixel size of 1 micrometer. The camera supports autofocus, and an aperture of ƒ/2.2, and a viewing angle of 123 degrees. The camera captures wide-angle images and covers a larger scene. The rear camera also supports video recording at 8K resolution at 30 frames per second, or 4K at 60 frames per second, or 1080p at 240 frames per second. The front camera is a Sony IMX471 camera, with a resolution of 16 megapixels, and a size of 1/3.1 inches, and a pixel size of 1 micrometer. The camera supports autofocus, and an aperture of ƒ/2.4, and a viewing angle of 78 degrees. The camera captures clear and beautiful selfies, and supports video recording at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
